If anyone knows of someone practicing Substance Abuse Professional
Services without being duly licensed, certified or registered
with this board, another state occupational licensing board
or in the employment of the federal government, that practice
should be reported to the board.
It is not the intent of the Board to regulate members of other
regulated professions who provide substance abuse services or
consultation in the normal course of the practice of their profession.
A counselor that is licensed, certified or registered with another
state occupational licensing board or in the employment of the
federal government is NOT considered to be practicing illegally.
Accusations of illegality should be reported to the appropriate
and relevant professional practice board, employer and/or immediate
supervisor.
