Australia’s first alcohol-free bar and bottle store to open in Melbourne

Australia’s first non-alcoholic cocktail bar, Brunswick Aces Bar, will open to the public from Saturday May 1.

The new venue will serve a menu of over 100 beers, wines and non-alcoholic cocktails, curated by the team behind Australia’s first non-alcoholic “spirit”, Brunswick Aces.

The new location will also be home to the country’s first physical non-alcoholic bottle store, with sobriety enthusiasts able to browse a variety of take-home goods, including popular Australian brands such as Heaps Normal XPA, Songbird Wine and Ovant, as well as international brands such as GNISTA and Vandestreek Playground IPA.

“When we first announced the new bar in February, we expected positive feedback from locals, but we were inundated with messages from afar,” said CEO and co-founder Stephen Lawrence.

“Moderate and sober drinkers from Perth to Sydney and even the US and UK, contacted us not only to visit us, but also to ask us to open venues in their home towns.

“At Brunswick Aces, we want to make sure that anyone interested in non-alcoholic products has a great experience, and what better way to do that than to be able to try before they buy.

The space created by the Brunswick Aces team is multifunctional. The team will be hosting a range of bar events, including buyouts by other non-alcoholic brands that have never had the opportunity to come face to face with their clientele in this style of setting.

The philosophy of the Brunswick Aces brand is to make everyone feel welcome, meaning that alcohol drinkers will also be able to come and enjoy the place, with just one gin and tonic option on the menu, using the two branded Spades and Hearts gin blends.

Located in Brunswick East, the new bar is open Thursday to Saturday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., with the bottle shop open Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Distillery Tours continues to operate every Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
