ClearSky Health recently opened an inpatient rehabilitation hospital at 109th Avenue and West McDowell Road in Avondale.
The ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital will be a 30-bed facility that is expected to treat approximately 650 patients per year. Physician-led rehabilitation services will include physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy; rehabilitative nursing care; case management; respiratory therapy, dietetic services and other specialized care.
Avondale Mayor Kenn Weise spoke at the inauguration, saying the region has 41,000 healthcare workers to provide a vast pool of talent at ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital.
“When we talk about rehabilitation, we are referring to physical, occupational, and speech therapy,” Weise said. “Almost all of us know someone who has needed at least one of these treatments. Having a world-class facility like the ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital in Avondale providing these services is of tremendous benefit to our community.
Darby Brockette, CEO of ClearSky Health, also spoke at the inauguration, thanking Avondale’s economic development department, the city and other partners.
“You are fortunate to live in an area that offers fabulous health care,” said Brockette. “ClearSky Health is simply proud to be a part of it. I am committed to this community – every patient, every family member – to provide you with excellence in rehabilitative care, which will translate into high quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.
The planned 43,000 square foot medical facility will include private rooms, a rehab gymnasium, dining room and daily living space activity. The hospital is expected to open in the summer of 2022.
