Highland Meadows Health & Rehab Achieves Exemplary State Survey Results – Blue Ribbon News

ROCKWALL, TX (October 15, 2021) From policies on infection control, hygiene and cleanliness to record keeping, compliance and reviews of care plans, Highland Meadows Health and Rehab, the premier care facility Rockwall Nursing and Long-Term Care, is delighted to announce they have achieved exemplary status of “no impairments” as a result of their annual state survey.

All nursing homes that participate in Medicaid and Medicare programs are required to undergo an intensive annual survey and subsequent certification process, overseen by the state health department. Several investigators are on site for several days to carry out these examinations. State investigations help protect residents of nursing homes and ensure that the facility provides quality, safe and effective care. Nursing homes must show that they are in substantial compliance with program requirements; and that they meet expectations for the health and happiness of residents. The failure of a nursing home to meet a federal participation requirement is defined as a gap.

“This is a testament to the diligence and dedication of our entire team here at Highland Meadows,” said Gracen Hawley, Owner / Administrator. “We are delighted with the results of the investigation, but honestly we wouldn’t agree to anything less. We put the care and safety of our patients first in everything we do.

Located at 1870 S. John King Blvd., Highland Meadows is a private 120 bed facility serving long term residents and short term rehabilitation patients. They are committed to healing, helping and improving the quality of life for those in their care by focusing on the physical, spiritual and emotional well-being of the patients.

The full results of the state survey will soon be available for review on medicare.gov, where consumers can compare nursing homes, hospitals, and other providers. This is where Highland Meadows also recently received 5 stars, the highest possible quality rating from CMS.gov (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services). CMS created the Five Star Quality Rating System to help consumers, their families, and caregivers compare nursing homes. The overall score is based on the performance of health inspections, staffing and the quality of resident care measures.
