Frank’s “longtime friend” filed an emergency appointment as temporary guardian and curator for the star on Aug. 18.

The US Sun can exclusively reveal more details about his recovery journey.

Frank’s friend filed a Protected Person Guardian Initial Care Plan on October 18th.

According to court documents, Frank has been in a rehabilitation center since being discharged from hospital on September 6.

The tutor visits Frank every week in person.

The guardian’s responsibility will be “to facilitate all care needs, provide transportation to all medical appointments and meet all social and household needs”.

By the time Frank is released from rehab, his Iowa farm must have “handrails” and “handles” for the shower and toilet.

The tutor will help Frank with his treatment for Crohn’s disease and his ongoing physical therapy.

He will also help the former American Pickers star grocery store, cook and “take Frank to whatever activities he feels up to.”

FRANK’S NEW LIFE

The US Sun previously revealed that Frank would be under temporary guardianship and conservatorship.

The documents read: “Because of his stroke, Mr. Fritz’s decision-making ability is so impaired that he is unable to look after his own safety or provide for necessities such as food, housing, clothing or medical care without which injury or illness may occur.

“Mr. Fritz’s decision-making ability is so impaired that he is unable to make, communicate, or execute important decisions regarding his own financial affairs.

A piece was mentioned in a doctor’s court documents confirming that Frank “has no decision-making capacity”.

The legal documents continued: “Decisions must be made for the care and placement of Mr. Fritz while he continues to recover and receive treatment for his injuries.

“The appointment of a guardian and conservator is necessary to avoid immediate harm to him.”

The petitioner requested that a separate “longtime friend” of Frank who “has been helping him make decisions since the stroke” be his guardian.

A bank would be the custodian to handle Frank’s financial affairs.

The guardian and conservator were both approved by the court earlier this month.

The curator will pay for Frank’s care at the residential facility, monitor his business interests such as partnerships and businesses, pay for his house and day-to-day expenses, ensure he has proper transportation to medical appointments, and more responsibilities.

MEDICAL CRISIS

Frank was hospitalized with a stroke on July 14 after a friend found him on the floor of his Iowa home.

Frank’s father, Bill Fritz, previously told the US Sun that his son was in “stable” condition weeks after hospitalization.

In an interview with the Quad-City Times, an insider revealed that Frank is on the mend and his health is improving day by day.

The friend told the publication: “He would like everyone to know that he continues to improve every day and is very determined.

“He’s really getting better every day.”

The friend also hinted that Frank wasn’t happy his hospitalization was made public by his former friend and co-star Mike Wolfe.

The source said: “Although Frank was unprepared at the time for his condition to be published, he is grateful for all the prayers and well wishes.”

SOME STREET WITH MIKE

Mike, 58, broke the news of the stroke by captioning an Instagram photo of the reality TV star shortly after hospitalization: “I’ve been very private over the past year in regards to Frank’s life and the journey he made.

“There have been a lot of opinions about my friendship with Frank and the show, but now is not the time to set the record straight.

“Now is the time to pray for my friend. Frank suffered a stroke and is in the hospital. Please keep him in your hearts and thoughts. Frank, I pray more than anything that you’re okay. I love you buddy.”

Frank had previously confirmed to The US Sun that the longtime friends had fallen out.

LIFE AFTER THE PICKERS

Frank last appeared on American Pickers on a March 2020 episode, when he took time off to recover from back surgery, which left him with 185 stitches and two rods in spine.

In his spare time, Frank has lost 65 pounds.

He also told the US Sun that he entered rehab for alcohol addiction in Iowa for 77 days.

Frank previously said, “I went to rehab and have been sober for 11 months now.

“I didn’t like to drink anymore. My mother was an alcoholic and she died five years ago and it was alcohol related. My grandfather was an alcoholic and he died. It didn’t suit me.

Frank said of his processing time: “They gave me a lot of information and we were booked 13 or 14 hours a day. There was no place to sit down to watch TV or eat food. You were scheduled for an hour, then an hour and a half, throughout the day.

“They really give you a lot of one-on-one time. I read 12 self help books while I was there. I did not fuck. I really got into it. I went there to learn and get the most out of it.

“I had a great time there and helped other people who had problems too. It was one of the best things that happened to me.”

Frank continued that he went to meetings “twice a week” after the passage.

FRANK’S SHOT

Frank was open about wanting to return to American Pickers after his hiatus, as he said, “I would always love to go back to my job, I miss my friends and my people and being on the road and meeting all these different characters. ”

But Mike soon revealed that Frank had been fired from the show.

He currently owns the Illinois antique store Frank Fritz Finds.
