Jacksonville City Council will meet in regular session this evening to induct a new member to a full agenda.
The workshop meeting will start at 6 p.m. Before the workshop meeting, the alderman of district 1 Darcella Speed ââwill be officially sworn in.
Benton & Associates will present a second presentation on the rehabilitation and engineering of Town Brook to prevent future flooding within the city limits.
Public Protection will kick off the workshop session as the Jacksonville Fire Department discusses waiving bids and accepting a proposal for an ARA filling station.
Police Chief Adam Mefford will discuss current staffing issues and updates on hiring within the police department. Mefford will also explain and discuss a juvenile justice grant in partnership with Midwest Youth Services.
Morgan County ESDA coordinator Phil McCarty will seek permission to dispense surplus assets within his department.
Utilities Department Manager Rick Hearin will provide new information on a quote for the water treatment plant parking lot waterproofing coating, which he presented at the previous meeting and he will discuss proposals for the Johnson Street Lift Station Electrical Upgrade Project.
An official action on these elements will take place during the business meeting which will start around 7 p.m. Members of the public have the option of attending in person or watching the proceedings online via a live video broadcast at jacksonvilleil.gov.
