Astros right-hander José Urquidy pitched four innings for the AAA Sugar Land class on Tuesday night on his first start to rehab since entering the injured list on June 30 with shoulder pain.
Urquidy, who allowed a run on four hits against Oklahoma City at Constellation Field, threw 35 of his 49 shots for catches. He took out six and didn’t work.
Uquidy is expected to make another start for the Skeeters on Sunday and then be activated if all goes well.
This is the second IL stint this season for Urquidy, who in 14 starts for the Astros in 2021 is 6-3 with a 3.38 ERA. He missed two weeks in May with discomfort in his right posterior shoulder.
