Revanth launches ‘white challenge’ against drug addiction

Drug cultivation allegations and counter-allegations in the state took an interesting turn on Saturday with TPCC chairman Revanth Reddy launching a ‘white challenge’ where he wanted politicians and celebrities to be tested drug analysis to send a positive message against drug addiction.

“As role models for young people, people in public life should accept my challenge to take the tests and invite others to take them,” he said, revealing that he was inviting City Minister KT Rama Rao and former Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy. be part of the challenge.

The congressman said he would be at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial at noon Monday and from there he would go to any hospital the minister suggests for drug testing. He said TRS MP Joginapally Santosh started the Green Challenge by inviting celebrities to promote greenery by planting saplings and that this “white challenge” was similar to this one.

Previously, KTR had offered to take a drug test in response to Mr. Reddy’s criticism that he had become “the brand ambassador for drugs.” An angry KTR said the congressional leader was crossing all the bounds of decency in tying him to the drug issue and actually volunteered for the test. The slogan, however, was that the leader of Congress, Rahul Gandhi, should also join us.

Asked about KTR’s challenge at a press conference, Mr. Reddy responded with the “white challenge” stating that he believed the drugs were white in color from what he saw in the movies.

‘Government. save the movie stars’

Mr Revanth Reddy alleged the government was trying to save some movie stars from the drug scandal and this was evident in the way the Law Enforcement Directorate called stars like Rakul Preet Singh and Daggubati Rana . He said they were not on the list of celebrities under investigation when officials from the Prohibition and Excise Department conducted the same investigation a few years ago.

“We want to know if the government has deliberately excluded them and if there are others who were not called up despite being involved,” he said.
